Are there any good places to play Dungeons and Dragons online?

Any version (old or new) will do, text or graphic, as long as it is free.

Multiplayer is far preferred, but I can play a single player sort of thing if need be.

Are you looking for a pen and paper online game? Or a computer game? If you are looking for a pen and paper game there are lots of ways, and games out there for folks to play. I play First Edition AD&D, which is pretty old school version.
