Are there any good programs for volunteering on your vacation?

I'm interested in volunteering abroad but like many of us, I only have 2 weeks of vacation a year.

I'd like to spend a week volunteering somewhere but I'm finding it hard to sift through all the programs out there (most of which require a 3+ month commitment). Any suggestions? Thanks!

do some community clean ups or help out at the animal shelter. these activities are good because u can just drop by and do them whenever you have time. no major commitment needed.

Volunteer at home.  Why go elsewhere when your own community needs you?
