Are there any good shell collecting beaches in or near Destin, FL?

We are in Destin now and the beach we've been going to has very few shells and they're the size of pennies :-/

in the gulf right now, without a hurricane to have stirred things up,,, that's about as good as it gets

butterfly shells is most likely what you are finding

Go to Navarre Beach - it's in Santa Rosa County, (not Santa Rosa Beach, which is in Walton County just a few miles to the east of Destin) Santa Rosa County is the next county to the West of you, approx. 20 miles. I don't know why they have so many shell's but there are a ton of 'em on Navarre Beach.
