Are there any good sports diets for a 5'9, 165lbs basketball player?

i just want to know how i could help myself gain more muscel and help me just be as healthy as possible when i play,they say protein is good and i know but i also know that to much of that is dangerous and i was woundering what diets are there that are just good for a basketball player looking to get stronger and healthier.

  1. protein is good but also mix in other stuff like

    fish and pasta
