Would Spinach, cucumber, bok choy be harmful? My grandma also grows bunchs of random lettuce but I don't know what they are called. Would trying the lettuce be harmful? Giving a list of harmful vegetables would be helpful

  1. Not exactly harmful but some are of limited value. Head lettuce has almost no nutritional value. Spinach can be fed in only small quantities. Dark green leafy vegetables and bits of sweet potato are probably the best.

  2. haha I just got one too! I found this website its one of many if you type in red eared slider food on google

    Diet

Red eared sliders are omnivores, meaning they eat a mixture of animal and plant material. Younger turtles are more carnivorous (eat more animal protein) than adults, though. Juveniles should be fed daily, but adults can be fed every 2-3 days.

Turtles can be fed a mixture of prepared commercial food and fresh food. Special food formulated for turtles can be used, but this should only make up about 25% of the total diet. The proportions of fresh supplements will depend on the age of the turtle, but can include live feeder fish, earthworms, crickets, waxworms, bloodworms, aquatic snails, fresh greens (collard, mustard and dandelion greens, and dark leafy lettuces but never head lettuce), aquatic plants, and shredded vegetables.

  3. veggies are fine. i have 2 red eared sliders and they love veggies and fruit.. of course they still need turtle food and protins, but as long as there is no seasonings, no onions or garlic's. and nothing with spicy peppers or anything spicy, you can almost feed them anything.. they love bananas and berrys and the greener the leafs of the lettus the better!!

  4. not realy
