  1. yes there are health barriers

and if you dont want to go to iraq or afghanistan well you just tell them and they will send you to somewhere pleasant like the canary islands where it will be just one long holiday

  2. Yes there are many. Asthma, diabetes, pins/rods in body, being over-weight...long list. Yes, you have to be in good  physical/mental/emotional condition to serve in the military for good reason.

  3. there are THOUSANDS of disqualifying conditions.

Needs of the military always take precedence over duty station assignments.

  4. Yes there are, but they change depending on how desperate armies are for new recruits.

For example, at the minute recruitment levels in US, UK army etc. have dipped because people have been put off by the thought of being sent to Iraq, Afghanistan.

Because of this a few of the more minor conditions that would normally stop you being accepted, may have been struck off the list.....as the army badly need people.

For example in the past, if you had minor conditions like flat feet or were slightly anaemic, you may have been rejected.....now you're likely to be accepted.

  5. You cannot choose where you go. You can only request. if the Army needs you someplace, that is where you are going. All about the needs of the Army.

  6. you go on two weeks training which is very hard and if you pass that it is fine or don't give up! my brothers sargent told his squadron that by the time he finishes with them they will all be smoking so he can have their f**s! its more about making you fit than employing elite people in the first place

And no you can not choose
