Are there any health implications in the use of microwave ovens?

  1. yes it can cause burn as the heating in the oven is due to movetment of water particle inside the item and it continues till some time after taking it out so do not consume any thing immediately after putting it out of your oven.


  2. No not that I'm aware of. Lots of people confuse microwaves with UV rays though. Microwaves are too weak to do any damage unlike high energy waves like UV, x-rays and gamma rays. In fact visible light has more energy, and thus is more dangerous, than microwaves so feel free to use your microwave oven without worrying about cancer.

  3. No, microwaves cant escape closed microwave oven. It is impossible to detect them outside of the oven.

    And for the food, there is no such effect as "microwave contaminated food". It is like saying that you can get burnings from sun dried food, which is false
