  1. I've used melatonin when I had trouble sleeping. But make sure you get your doctor's permission before you take it. I've also tried aromatherapy. I use eucalyptus or lavender oil on an oil burner and it helps me sleep.

  2. Melatonin, although not a herb, is the most commonly used natural sleep aid.

Hops, valerian, catnip and passionflower are the most commonly used herbs.

There are many other things you can try to help improve your sleep. Exercise during the day, go to bed in a quiet dark room (no TV or computer), read with a small light, get up at the same time each day.

  3. Homeopathic Treatment for Sleeplessness / Insomnia, due to different reason and with different set of symptoms (No side effects or interaction with conventional drugs and totally non addictive) :-

Sleeplessness during menopausal stage Senecio Aur 30X, 4 hourly

Sleeplessness due to sudden shock; disappointment Ignatia 200X or 1M, 10 min (3 Doses)

Feels sleepy but cannot sleep; clocks striking at a distance keep him awake; bed feels hot; moves about in vain to find a cool spot in bed Pulsatilla 30X or 200X, 4 hourly

Restlessness during early part of sleep; sound sleep when it is turns to rise; gets too hot in bed; throws off covers, gets chilly and puts them on again; puts arms above the head during sleep Opium 30X or 200X, 4 hourly

Take the remedy which is similar to your symptoms. No side effects or complications if taken as directed, please do not exceed the given dosage and under any circumstances do not try to mix any remedies and avoid Chocolates, Mints, Coffee, Red Meat, Alcoholic and Carbonated drinks, Spicy Rich Food while taking any Homeopathic remedies, and keep the medicines away from direct sunlight, heat strong smells and perfumes and do not store them in the fridge.

Curing without any side effects or Complications Thats the Beauty of Homeopathic Medicine

  4. Melatonin

  5. turkey, it has natural sleep aids

  6. I've always herd lavender and peppermint. There are certain teas that will help that have lavender etc in them.

  7. echinecia tea and melatonin

  8. A cup of hot green tea with lemon or not.

And maybe reading a relaxing book.

    Pills are so stupid.

Why would someone take a pill when they could easily get up and read a book or drink some tea or something instead of take a pill when you would never know if you were going to wake up or not?

    It's beyond me.

    Hope I helped.

    =)

  9. Smell lavender.

  10. I don't know about herbal but if you eat a handful of almonds and a few baby carrots, something about the mixture helps you sleep.

  11. i have a hard time sleepen sometimes and i refuse to take medicine for it but my mom bought me melatonin it is the natural chemical your body produces to help you sleep some people don't make enough of it. so you can take this before  bed it a vitamin and all natural

  12. Yes!!!

Kava Kava root is excellent for aiding sleep, as long as you get it in a strong dosage. I recommend the powdered form for its strength (like the brand Kava King), but it tastes awful. It also comes in capsules (liquid capsules are best because they're absorbed by the body better - I like Gaia brand), teas, etc. Kava Kava is traditionally used in the South Pacific as a relaxant.

Also, the herb Valerian root is excellent for sleep - it's been traditionally used as a relaxant in Europe and the Americas for centuries. I think Gaia makes a Kava Kava-Valerian combination formula, in liquid capsules and tinctures. Or, like with the Kava Kava, you can get Valerian in its untasty-but-effective powdered form, in capsules, etc.

Hope you get some good sleep!

  13. camimeal tea really helps also known as bed time tea

  14. Natural remedies include warm milk, valerian, melatonin, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  15. lavender tea, chamomile, valerian, hops, passionflower.

  16. meletonin knocked me out in 20 minutes for 10 hours, XDD

  17. Hop Leaves -

    Chamomile Tea -

    Carob Powder -

    Peanut Butter -

  18. Melatonin & kava kava

  19. Try drinking an herbal tea with both chamomile and lavender in it and breath in deeply so the aroma gets into your sinuses as well as the herbal tea gets into your system.  If that doesn't work, try drinking valerian root tea ... but I call valerian root 'dirty socks' tea for the reason that it STINKS just like a pair of dirty socks left in a locker for a month ... just breathe through your mouth as you brew it, and sweeten it with honey to take the bitterness out of the flavor ... valerian root is a 'soporific' and also relieves pain, stops nervous anxiety, etc.  You can also make a 'decoction' by boiling a full cup of the root in a gallon of water and keep it boiling until all the fluid you have is a quart ... take that by the tablespoon, one tablespoon will equal two 'cups' of the 'tea' and you should sleep the night through.

  20. Valerian root. You can get it in bulk or sleepy time capsules at your local organic market. If you get it in bulk it is very very bitter. It helps if you seep it like tea with cut apples or grapes.
