Question:

Are there any herbal teas out there that actually taste as good as they smell?

I've tried a range of 'fruit-flavoured' infusions and herbal teas from Morrisons but found them rather disappointing. They smell lovely but taste bland.

Are there any brands/varieties of herbal tea that taste as nice as they smell?

Thank you!

  1. Use the twinnings brands, they are gorgeous. My favourites are strawberry & camomile & limeflower

  2. Twinings peppermint

  3. Twinings ones are nice but a bit on the dear side. They still dont taste as nice as they smell though.

  4. Fruit teas are vile. Smell gorgeous, taste like crud.

Try NON fruit ones, which are far better for you anyway. Green tea, nettle (gorgeous, tastes just like tea), peppermint, chamomile, ginger...

Any of these are available from supermarkets or Holland & Barrett. But avoid fruit herbal teas like the plaugue, they are GROSS and how anyone drinks them is beyond me.

Seriously, pop down to your local supermarket or H&B and just take a minute to browse the teas. They're all brilliant for you and caffeine free, and (genuinely) taste really nice.

  5. Asda's blackcurrant ones are lovely and typhoo's orange an Ginseng are delicious also typhoo do a nice cherry one although i add half a sugar to that one.

  6. White tea is yum....and green tea with lemon.....lemon infused tea....peppermint tea.

all taste good. I sometimes think the fruit teas smell fab but taste a bit like soapy water!

  7. I have Twinings ones and the Tetley Red Bush one. They are all really nice :) bit expensive but worth it.

  8. I like Celestial Seasonings teas.  Berry blends, lemon and zingers are my favorite.  I am not a coffee drinker so I indulge in teas.  Constant Comment makes a nice orange tea tho it is not herbal.

  9. As you say herbal teas smell lovely but can taste very bland...as I found also to my disappointment

BUT there is a soloution....Add a couple of drops of lemon juice or a slice of lemon and it perks them up no end..I suppose a bit like adding seasoning to food.. you dont really notice the addition but it enhances the original flavours significantly.

I also like to add a teaspoon of honey.

  10. I use Twinnings Peppermint tea. Leave the bag in a little longer than they suggest on the packet.

Dont get the one with Fennel, just the straight peppermint tea.

  11. I don't know if it can be called herbal tea but did you try ROOIBOS (maybe ROIBOS)? It's from south africa, a plant (red bush), not tea, but the drink is prepared the same way.

It's got a very refreshing and pleasant aroma it's my favourite.
