According to its specs, yes, it supports both.

(Actually any player with HDMI 1.3 should be able to do it..)

You still need an AV receiver that can actually decode Dolby Tru-HD and DTS-HD. The player just passses the audio via HDMI.

i owna PS3 and I know for a fact that it supports Dolby True HD cause "I AM LEGEND" was recorded in Dolby True HD and its awesome.   The model you mentioned above ( BD-UP5000) actually supports both.
