okay, i've had it with this stupid comforter!!!!! it's my FAVORITE comforter ever, but it stinks SO badly. i let one of my best friends borrow it when we went camping a few months back. i just got it back from him and it SMELLS... awful. i've washed it like 5 times in the last two days. it's black, and i washed it in hot water out of desperation to get rid of the smell... and now it's fading but the smell is still there.

it smells like rotten milk and s*x. :/

HELP?!?!? should i just throw it away?

  1. Years ago my son took his feather duvet camping and I could never get the mildew type smell out of it.  Washing seemed to have no effect whatever.  I think you may have to throw it away so try all the other suggestions, worth a try to see if they work.

  2. Try pre-soaking the comforter in vinegar, then wash as usual.  If that doesn'tt work, then take it to the local laundry mat and use one oftheirr big washing machines.

    Good Luck!

  3. you could try taking it to the cleaners oh and

    eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww

  4. come on... don't let others borrow your personal things... well, anyways, if i were you, ill throw it away.. but if you wanna keep it, then i've got some tips for you...

    * As much as possible, don’t use protective chemicals on your comforter. Stain-preventing chemicals are meant for carpets and rugs, not for comforters / mattresses. Eventually those chemicals will spread to your sheets and you’ll start to get rashes and irritated skin.

    * If you really have to use chemicals, tackle super tough stains with an enzyme cleaner; a biologically-based cleaner that breaks down stains and odors.

    * A few comforter / mattress-cleaning products that you can also use include Natures Miracle, Bane-Clene (which is great for allergies), and a well-recommended comforter / mattress cleaner used by the hotel industry called ProKlean.

for more infos, try to look on the source... it will help you a lot

  5. Throw it out and start shopping for another. Don't let anyone use your blanket again! Good luck!
