Are there any hotel websites that don't charge your credit card right away just to make a reservation? I know that expedia.com and hotels.com do this..do you know of any that do not?

  1. hi, i am in the hotel buisness and to be honest with you the majority of hotel websites charge you right away depending on the type of reservation you are making. I suggest you read everything before you make the reservation Everything! If you use a third party website like priceline, or Orbitz, or expedia, they will charge you right away, i suggest you make your reservations through the hotel directly cause those third party sites charge you more than what the hotel charges them! and if you go through the hotels site, and you get a really cheap rate make sure you read everything cause sometimes they are not cancellable. I suggest you call the sites directly if you do it through a third pary site so they can answer all your questions. .Hope i helped. =)


  2. Websites for hotel chains (Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott, etc.) require a valid credit card number to make a reservation, but they don't charge the amount to the card immediately unless you choose a "pay in advance" rate.  Just read the rules for the rate you select.

    Note that travel sites (Expedia, Travelocity, etc.) DO charge the amount to your card immidiately.
