Are there any international boarding schools in England?

I live in america, and next year i want to enter 6th form but ill be 17 (upper sixth) and most boarding schools only accept people when they are 16(lower sixth). Are there any schools that will accept me

  1. Most schools will if you really want to, but you will have to have done A levels first. Why not wait and come to Britain for University??


  2. Unfortunately you'll find a hard time being accepted into upper sixth if you want to do A levels. You could just start in year 12 (lower sixth) but you can't go straight into upper sixth as you won't have done your first year of A levels. However, as you live in the US I'm not sure how likely it is you can get into a sixth form, as you don't have any formal qualifications yet. Why not just wait until you've finished high school?

    Alternatively, you could see if there are any boarding schools that do International Baccalaureate (sorry if that's spelt wrong...) but again you would have to start in grade 11 to do the whole IB programme.
