Are there any issues of the detrimental effects of recycling in the Philippines? Why is recycling detrimental?

Why is recycling has a detrimental effect in the enviroment, how come people believes that it does help to reduce pollution? Why don't people realize that recycling is also contributing to the our enviromental problem more as well?

Could you please be more specific?  I'm a major advocate for recycling to reduce needless waste (though there ARE of course steps people could take so they wouldn't have things to recycle or throw away in the first place)... Please enlighten me.... why is recycling also an environmental problem (of course, I know, it takes factories to recycle...)
