Are there any jobs for 13 year olds?

Hi, I'm 13 and I want to earn some money for myself. I hate asking my parents for money because I feel like they have already done so much for me and I should take up my own responsibility. Plus, I have alot of free time on my hands and I need to spend it other than watch tv or IM my friends. I've already looked up being the newspaper boy but I just can't wake up that early because I have swim practice every morning. Please help me!!!

Other then babysitting, your options are kind of limited.  Most states you have to be at least 14 years old to get working papers, and even then a lot of places won't hire you until you're 16.

go to a pizza store and ask if you can fold pizza boxes!

my friend did it, at first they started laughing but then they said they dont really have a lot of time to do it since they constantly get calls to deliver or their making pizza so they payed her ot do it.

most states require you to be 14 or 16.

My little brother was 13 and wondering the same thing. We always ate at a local Mom and Pop Mexican restaurant, so one day he asked the manager if he had any work that he could do. The manager let him wash dishes for $9 an hour part time. Not bad for being 13 yrs old.

First of all, good for you for not wanting to take money from your parents :-).

You should try mowing lawns/snow shoveling depending on the season.  

Although you may not get money from this, you should try doing some volunteer work as it would be a great experience, you build up the network of people you know (people who could potentially get you a job) and it shows future potential employers that you are proactive and that you care for the community.  Try a nursing home.  The elderly can be pretty fun and interesting :-).   Best of luck!!!

Hello, I'm also 13. I make my money by doing a paper round.

I get £19 a week not bad really.

That goes up to nealy £30 a week at christmas because of tips.

I have also done car washes that pays well.
