  4. Hi, I'm not sure whether electricians specifically are in high demand in Alberta, but I do know that there is a lot of work available in Northern Alberta and Northern BC.  

    I am originally from Nova Scotia.  As homesick as I am and as much as I'd love to move back, there's just no denying that it's easier to make a living here (I'm in Northern BC).  Even unskilled jobs pay well - for example, in Fort St John, employees are being paid $10-14/hr to to work in places like Tim Horton's and other fast food restaurants.  

    If you have a trade, especially one that enables you to work in the oil fields or the bush, or if you drive a truck or are skilled in working with heavy equipment, you can do very well out here.  

    Get a copy of this month's Saltscapes magazine and you'll find a good article on this very subject.
