  1. being military i've lived in quite a few places accross Canada and i'm always on the job lookout for my four children.  I've always been very successful.  Certain areas are booming in different areas of this fantastic country and HR is definately a good place to be.  Right now I'm in Manitoba and we weren't here long before my children were all working.  East coast they had jobs but lower wages but this is a trade off to live in one of the best places in the world and I will retire there SOON!.  Cost of living is a little lower there too depending on where you live.  Your expectations, and you must have some, will come into play.  Seriously look at the pros and cons of each area and demand for employement.  www.jobbank.gc.ca is a great resource for me.  It lists government employment as well as company's from coast to coast and quite a few include expected wages.  If it states to be negotiated contact the company and find out for yourself what their expectations of wages are...your bi possibly trilingual use it....your degrees are flexible you need to be also to find that ideal job....if money is the mover then think about a position with a drilling company out west these will be listed differently...do a google search for oil drilling and Canada and the company web sites will pop up....visit them and see what they have to offer....If you don't mind being a little secluded there's more money in those hard to fill positions on reserves and up north....Canadian companies with links to Pakistan would be a good place to look....all large corporations have HR so your at a great starting point...for general wage info go to http://www.labourmarketinformation.ca/st... plug in your desired location and type of job and it'll give you wage info to be expected in that area.  A priceless website.  One last tidbit www.dogpile.com is an amazing search engine...everyone seems to love google well dogpile uses google and 5 other search engines in it's searches...what's better a one person search party or a 6 person search party...and the results are broken down by which search engine that displayed the results....much more thorough search....good luck and welcome to Canada!

  2. Canada has some messed-up immigration laws.   Here's one:  you can come into Canada as a "visitor," but you are not allowed to work or go to school.   Your immigration lawyer may say that you can get a temporary work permit, but he's blowing smoke up your derriere because an employer has to prove that no Canadian can do the job before it is offered to a foreigner.  The immigration process is severely backlogged, but instead of increasing the staffing for Immigration Canada, the Ottawa government decreased staffing.   So expect to wait six to twelve months to attain "landed immigrant" status.   You can get a work permit much faster in the USA.  Don't blame you for wanting to immigrate.   I have visited your country, and it has wonderful people, but the Islamic fundamentalists are ruining it for everybody.

  3. If you have applied to Immigration Canada, you are not alone, there are all most one million others, who are also trying to get here.

    Be patient.

I am a bit curious how you can have so many degrees, a BA , two Master's and a PhD, and 3 years of work experience at age 32. Did you start University at age 12 ?  In Canada at that age, a student may have a BA and be completing  a Master"s program.

  4. If your education is legit...I share Jim D's concerns, then you'll have no problem,  You'll have better luck in a city like Saskatoon, Calgary or Winnipeg where they're going begging for people, than in Toronto or Vancouver.  I can't beging to tell you salary...that totally depends on the company, job type, etc.  Check out jobs online at places like monster.ca.

James R - "you can come into Canada as a "visitor," but you are not allowed to work or go to school"  Well, no kidding...that's the whole point of a visitor visa!  What do you think "Visitor" means?
