    these guys are great!

infact this is one of the main reasons people have them for pets!

  2. The ones on my dinner plate.

  3. The Norwegian Blue! LOVELY Plumage!!

  4. Bourke's are on the quiet end of the noise scale for birds. They make most of their noise at dawn and dusk (or in the case of a covered bird cage they save their noise for when the cover comes off) but it is small twittering sounds and in no way offensive.

I find my budgies are incredibly quiet, although I've seen a lot of people on here say how noisy theirs are.

The simple fact is though that birds LOVE to communicate, and they do it with sound. Saying you want a quiet bird is like saying you want a quiet child...it just doesn't happen all of the time, although providing plenty of mental stimulation certainly does help. Think of a child saying "I'm bored, what can I do.....I'm bored....I'm bored"....a lot of the time a bird making excessive noise is saying the same thing.

  5. Well if you want a bird that you can play with and bond closely with most likely they will be talkative, however I would suggest a parrotlet, they never make unpleasant squawking noises. They do sing often especially when you are in the room with them, usually they are silent when left alone. If you want an ornamental bird I would suggest java rice birds or zebra finches, the java rice birds make very beautiful calls but not ongoing, zebra finches make nice little chirps that are fairly quiet and soothing. I hope this helps.

  6. I do not think you like birds.  If you call their voices noise - you must not like them.

The smaller the bird, usually the smaller the voice.  Finches, canaries and budgies come to mind.

I think you would like a fish.  They do not have a call.

  7. a cheap and enjoyable bird is a cockatiel, but if you decide to get one get a female since males chird and whistle a lot, females are quiet and love to cuddle. But the cool things about male cockatiels, they can learn to mimick whistles and noises.

  8. PARROTLET! No question!  If you want a bird that is incapable of screaming, yet you want the other parrot qualities like intelligence, curiosity and ability to speak you need a parrotlet.  They are loving, sweet, funny, inquisitive and also pretty quiet.

Please, if you do decide on a parrotlet, make sure you have plenty of time to spend with it, as they can get lonely.  They should have at least an hour of out of cage time daily to socialize with you (and your family as the case may be).

Do your research!  Many things are toxic to these little birds... like teflon, avocados, chocolate and other things that you may not know if you don't have birds.  The more you know the less danger your p'let will be in.  Get your p'let from a good breeder.  Make sure you get a hand fed and well socialized baby.

  9. you could buy a green cheek conure. They are lovable pets, smart very tammed and they don't make any "noise" @ all

Ps: BTW birds scream as part of their nature, if you can't stand that then birds are not the best pet for you. Good luck

  10. i have 2 parakeets they do not make a lot of noise but they do get a little noisy but its only 4 a min or 2

when they get like that i but a blanket over there cage and they calm down

but most of the time there very silent and good animals and they sing 2 me which is vary nice

but birds r not the silent type they sing skwak and make other sounds ether u like it or u dont
