I don't mean scientifically. I mean by a dream or a feeling or some other unusual experience..

  1. A prediction that no one hears about until after it has happened isn't a prediction.

If you were sure a major disaster was going to happen for a couple of bucks you could put a small add in the local paper warning people about it - even if it didn't save anyone's life it would prove that your predictions were accurate.

Just having a feeling that something bad is going to happen isn't a prediction either.

I'm getting a bit worried about quizzard's prediction though - I see he is a top contributor in geography- batten down the hatches Southern California.

  2. Abraham Lincoln had a dream the night before he lost his son, and again the night before he was assasinated. George Washington saw a map come alive when he was a general, almost Harry Potter style, this is documented incidentally, and in this map he foresaw The Civil War and Three World Wars to follow. Nostradamus predicted Hitler (he wrote Hissler) and he also predicted Napolean (Naypayleon) from his room in the 15th century, he wrote of these people in quatrains, and were pretty accurate, 85 percent I believe.  I myself saw two planes in the sky 24 hours before the planes hit the World Trade, and was not sure what that was all about until it happened, but was not fooled when I got the information on the plane crash that followed in the coming weeks, I told every one that I was with at the moment of my vision that another plane would crash, this time only one, with in 24 hours, and bingo, right on the mark. I am still confused what having this information is supposed to be about, as one who has the vision could hardly do anything about it. Nostradamus could not stop Hitler, and Washington could not stop the wars having seen them starting from 100 years before they happened.  I hope this answers your questions. I  know a ton of stories relating to predictions and their accuracy, but these were a few that came to mind. Hope this helps.

I just read up and saw your edit, I also had a series of dreams to the date, but 5 years before that predicted my mothers death. It described all of the surrounding circumstances. I had written it down in a diary when I was 17 years old, my mother died when I was 22 and I found the diary a few years after that and read the eerie foretelling passages then. Again, I did not read this passage prior to her death in that year where it might have helped the out come and effected the decisions that were made... so I am not sure what this kind of information is really about other than telling us that we are right on track with the fate that we have chosen for ourselves before we got here. In the cases listed above about Washington and Nostradomus, well they were written way way before anyone could do a thing about them....

  3. There are many instances of "disaster predictions" coming true. There are some people who will not believe them because it doesn't jive with their preconceived notions of what is real and what isn't. This especially includes religious fanatics, which is weird when you consider it,because they believe in god with no proof of anything like god being possible. Cayce is a prime example of remarkable predictions coming true.

  4. I can't find it now..but not long ago I asked a question on here about 9/11. There were a lot of answers from people who felt something  was going to happen or was happening at the time. A lot of experiences about it. Wish I could find it!  Most people don't tell these premonitions...because no one believes them..at least no one who could stop it...like the pilot of an airplane etc.

Best I remember ..seems like there were people who predicted the tsunami. But you don't hear about their predictions until afterwards.

  5. The mayans predict the end of the world on Dec. 21, 2012.  Do a google seach on "maya calendar" and you'll find some articles and history.

  6. Read some of Nostradomus' predictions.

  7. i'm sure that, somewhere in this world, someone is predicting an earthquake every day.

i don't think i'd think whoever predicted it on the day it happens with psychic powers though.

  8. Predicted?  Sure.  Predicted accurately and repeatedly?  No.

Just saying "I see an earthquake coming" is evidence of diddly squat.  That's why so many people place so much credence on Nostradamus.  If you put together hundreds of vague, confusing verses, and then allow OTHERS to fit events into them, of course occasionally you'll get something that could be interpreted as a match.

"If you're an Aries, this month will bring great happiness".  If you're an Aries and your child is born: bingo, it was RIGHT.  What about all the other times it didn't fit?

Same with earthquake prediction.  If I can say to you " I predict an earthquake in Southern California on Feb 29 at 6 pm" and it happens at that time, and I can do this over and over, WITHOUT having more misses than hits, then you should believe I can predict the future.

Since nobody can do that, it doesn't happen.
