Oh and Eagle Hawk Neck in Tasmania of course (been there heaps of times, can't believe I didn't think of it before!)

  4. Cockatoo Island

Cockatoo Island is Australia's most unusual urban park - a heritage-listed island in the middle of beautiful Sydney Harbour.

Visit, experience, and discover this Sydney icon.

Cockatoo Island: is an island in Sydney Harbour in Sydney , New South Wales , Australia .

The island was originally used as a prison and later developed as a shipyard.

Many naval ships were built and maintained at 'Cockatoo Island Dockyard'.

    Heron Island -

72km (45 miles) NE of Gladstone, Queensland.

There has been a resort on Heron since 1932, and in 1943 the island became a national park. It is a haven for wildlife and people, and an experience of a lifetime is almost guaranteed at any time of year. Heron is a rookery for giant green and loggerhead turtles. Resort guests gather on the beach from late November to February to watch the female turtles lay eggs, and from February to mid-April to see the hatched babies scuttle down the sand to the water. Humpback whales pass through from June through September.
