Are there any legitimate grant sites?

I am trying to start my own business and looking to see if i can apply for a grant to help with some of the start up cost. I have been searching different sites and they are seem to be bogus. Can anyone direct me to a legimate site for grants.

For a government grant, go to grants.gov and follow the instructions. However, except for daycare, there are no grants for a for profit business.  

For a foundation grant, follow the instructions at npguides.org and then go to foundationcenter.org/ to find foundations giving out grants.
