Are there any legitimate organizations that go to Haiti?

I'm interested in helping rebuild the country as I have many friends from Haiti, here in the U.S. I heard of a few not for profit organizations that travel annualy to help a select group of people rebuild their homes. If not, are there any reliable freights to ship clothing and toiletries to the people in need?

i live in Haiti and you can not rebuild it, building homes and throwing around free stuff wont change the condition haiti is in, thanks for the kind thoughts but haiti needs buissness and commerece,  but few organazations do anything to help or even have the power,

i will tell you of one group called M.o.p. and they are from mother terresa order and take care of orphans and elderly and physicaly and mentaly disabled i respect them becuase they are takeing care of people that would otherwise die in the street,  look for them on the web M.O.P or keep contact with me because i go to there church in cap haitian haiti,

if you wish to go and build houses contact food for the poor but they are hated because they dont help the country they just throw around free **** and leave a situation for more problems

If Habitat for Humanity goes there they are reputable.  So is Feed the Children, and they are often on the ground there.  Check www.idealist.org for more ideas.

I lived in haiti for 9 months ,i left just before the food riots started. i saw alot of humanitarians coming in and out the country .catholic charities sends alot of aid to haiti.A really good charity is the charites of the divine mercy ,it goes to a orphanage in port a prince .The people now need food more than clothes .i was giving food to my employees for there family`s ,but the people found out and big crowds of people showed up wanting food ,almost started a riot had to stop.
