It depends what you mean by "light beers".  I can't think of an American light beer (Bud Light, Miller Light, Coors Light, etc.) that isn't a lager.  What makes these beers "light" is the amount of calories.  If you are looking for low calorie count, there are a couple of beers that come to mind:

Guinness

British Milds

That said, if you are looking for "light" in terms of color, there are numerous ales available:

Kolsch: the lightest of German ales.  Crisp, smooth, and easily as drinkable an American light lager ... better tasting too.

Wheat: American or German, these brews are light in color but rich in flavor.

Belgian Pales: often low alcohol, light in color, and really offer a spectrum of interesting flavors

Well, this list could go on an on.  It's not difficult to find "light" colored ales.  Low calorie ale is slightly more difficult.  But, really, light beers on average have 10% lower calories than their "full-bodied" brethren.  This isn't a place to lose weight...

Beck's is a lager and Pilsners are a style of lager as well.

No there aren't any official light ales. Guinness is one of the closest at 125 calories per 12oz serving however. The reason for this is mostly marketability. Lagers make up the majority if beer sales even if they are the smallest variety of beer. Most brewers don't see point in making if they can't sell it. Heck, ales in America were a dying breed until the craft revolution on the late 1970's.*

*Please, don't jump down my throat. I said IN AMERICA...I understand that Europe was still making them.
