Are there any long distance movers that can move for under $1000?

I need a mover from az to ga. I dont have a lot of furniture and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good moving companies that are very reasonable? Thanks.

Steve D. has a great answer except you can occasionally piggy back on someone else that is moving. They keep the items separate and it's cheaper. So look around for a moving company that is going in the right direction with out a full load.

Another possibility is to look for a local family owned moving business.  You can often get a better deal from them, especially if your moving dates for your things can be a little flexible.

Call one of the movers and tell them you have less than a truck load. That way they can adjust the rates. What they've been quoting is whole house moves. Once you get specific they will be more willing to work with you. If you have them pack and ship it will naturally cost more.
