Im in 11th grade next year and I'd really like to attend U of K. But I have no college fund so I won't be able to without scholarships, I'm totally dependent on them and could use everything I can get.

  1. Consult with UK's financial aid department. There are scholarships, grants, loans, etc. http://www.uky.edu/FinancialAid/

Talk with the individual college you will be admitted to.  Sometimes they know about monies that are out there for specific educational tracks.

What profession will you be going into?  Where will you be willing to work?  Does that place have a work-scholarship program (i.e. most hospitals help out nursing students if they agree to come work there after they graduate). This is how I got my Associates Degree.

What about educational benefits from an employer?  Some give you money to help with school, but you have to be able to balance a job and school successfully. This is how I got my Bachelors Degree.

Talk with your school counselor about taking classes where you will earn college credits.  This will decrease you time in college and the financial burden.  Your school counselor should also know about scholarships that are out there, both at UK and within the community.  Ask the counselor about a CAP Grant http://www.kheaa.com/prog_cap.html and about FAFSA http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
