  1. Rue Cler is a carless street where you can find daily all the fresh products, meat, veggies, dairy etc

Marché de l'avenue de Saxe close to the UNESCO is great but I don't know  on which  days it works

  2. Hi David,

I did a bit of research a while back on all the markets around Paris, and I ended up making a list on my website.  It shows location, dates, what's for sale, and might just help you:

The Eiffel Tower is in the 7th arrondissement [postcode 75007], and there are markets on Thursdays and Saturdays:

    75007

    Paris Market: Marché Saxe-Breteuil - Thursdays 7:00-14:30

Avenue de Saxe (Metro: Ségur) - Saturdays 7:00-15:00

In the 6th district you can find these markets:

    75006

    Paris Market: Marché Couvert St-Germain

    4/8 rue Lobineau

    (Metro: Mabillon)

Tuesday to Saturday 8:30-13:00 and 16:00-19h30

    Sundays 8:30-13:00

    75006

    Marché Raspail

Boulevard Raspail, between rue du Cherche-Midi and rue de Rennes (Metro: Rennes)

    Tuesdays and Fridays 7:00-14:30

You might want to check out the locations of the markets in the 8th district [arrondissement] as well.

You can type the address into a search engine to see how close to the Eiffel Tower they are. For example if you go to google maps:

    http://maps.google.com/

    and type :

    4/8 rue Lobineau, paris france

you will find this on the map.  The quick link to this address is :

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&ge...

The Eiffel Tower can be found on the map by typing:

    eiffel tower paris france

You can even get directions from each market to the Eiffel Tower [or to/from your accommodation], which is a great way to get around on the google maps.  You can print the directions if you have access to a printer, or simply write them down in your travel journal.

I hope this has been helpful!  And I hope you find whatever you're looking for at the markets!

    Cheers
