Are there any means of protecting against venereal diseases in professional MMA competitions?

Blood testing? Anything to protect open cuts? Thanks for any replies.

  1. As far as i know even the small circuits do blood testing, so you're not getting on the mat if your blood comes back positive for HIV or any other type of STD, etc.


  2. Every fighter goes through a medical screening prior to fighting. If there is any risk of passing something, anything, along to another fighter, that fighter would not be cleared to fight.

  3. If you have open cuts make sure they are covered. I have never heard of any one getting a disease in MMA competitions  and I have a step son that competes in Muay Thai.
