  1. my mate, and her whole family r mods and i used to be  mod so nope

  2. There's one bloke who lives down my street who I never see without the Ben Sherman logo thing. Does that count?

    I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm 15!

  3. Where I come from, the whole Mod thing is still going strong.  Lots of Vespas and Lambrettas going past all day long and plenty of parkas and skinny jeans etc.

  4. Well only U2.

  5. My husband was a Mod back in the 60's. I love looking at his old pictures.

He lived in Hungary at the time and it was very rebellious to follow anything from the west.I think they tried even harder here in a communsit country to get at the established system. He and his friends were often chased by the police and a few times they were caught and the coppers would cut their hair off.

He lived in a small one room apt with his parents and siblings so of course he was sort of a street punk that lived in the clubs and bars.

there was no point in saving your money for a young single male since you had to be on a list to get your own apt. where families came first, and nobody could get a car. he had a scooter or sometimes a motorbike and would spend up to 3 months pay on a custom made suit.

he had a large collection of clothes and handmade skin tight leather jackets and winter coats.

Sometimes some Italians would come into his country and sell black market goods, the latest fashions from Italy from the back of their cars.

He has sort of disfigured his feet from years of smashing them into pointed small shoes.

His fashion sence is one of the things I loved about him when I met him, he cold barely speak English at the time we met but the way he could dress and carry himself was just too cool.

He was holding on to a few items of his old clothes but now they are about 5 sizes too small and falling apart at the seams, he said he was going to put them in his own museum.

Actually, one suit did survive and our son wore it out a few times. The girls couldn't keep their hands off of him. It was the same suit my husband had on when I met him.The clothes sometimes do make the man!

He is still a Mod at heart but to look at him, well...

  6. Not any real ones.

  7. there shouldn't be!!.....rockers cleansed them from our streets for good back in the early 70's.....yey...
