Are there any non-college-affiliated women's rugby teams in the US (particularly the Midwest)?

I'm 20 years old and play for my school, but I would love to play outside of that. Are there any teams that anyone is aware of that I could play, or at least practice with?

  1. Here you go, love.  Contacts for some women's club teams in the midwest.  http://www.hoarfu.com/TeamInfo_Women_clu...

  2. Heck yes!!!!  Glad you asked!  The above answer is right!  Indie has a really great team whom I've played against for years, great gals.

I play for Detroit.  There are also two teams in Chicago, a team in Columbus, Cinnci-Dayton, two in Cleveland, one in Pittsburgh and Buffalo, one in Ann Arbor, and multiple teams in the twin cities and even Milwaukee.

The best way to find them is to visit the USA Rugby website.  There is a complete listing of women's Division I and II teams.  Good luck and if you have any questions, email me!

  3. Check out the Midwest Rugby Union, www.midwestrugby.com, there are alto.  Come to Minnesota and join the MN Valkyries, who are constantly ranked in the top five nationally.  I know most of them and they are all alto of fun too.

This year they finished ranked 2nd in the country.

  4. While I'm not sure how to get a hold of them, I do know that there is a women's rugby club in Indianapolis (they sometimes hang out at a bar where my friends go, so I've met some of them).
