Maybe their spots are different? Is size about the same? Hunting habits? Is it safe to assume they hale from the same ancestor before Africa and South America split?

  1. idk

  2. Continental divide?  Geographical origin?  Interspecies breeding?  Is this a homework assignment, and you're lazy?

First off - you might truly find the answers you are seeking if you post this question under pets, and 'other.'  This is the reptile section.

Continental divide and influence on native species DOES occur here, but - it doesn't concern predatory cats, as a rule.

Or you could try sparing a day visit to the Smithsonian museum - that can resolved all this, or even a trip to your local zoo.

Not to mention "google" is a wonderful tool, if you want to know if a Jaguar and Leopard are, in fact, the same animal.

I simply know a grown python will quickly make a meal of either (I have seen film).

Or is this 'fishing' to see 'what bites'?

    I 'bit.'

Good luck on your research, and I hope you find the answers/reaction you seek.
