Are there any olympic swimmers who started at the age of 11?

Don't say Michael Phelps because he didnt. He started at 5, is what all the articles say and he got his long term coach, Bob, at 11.

i dont know of any, im sure there is a possibility that there are, but i know one of my good swimming friends started when she was about 10 or 11 and she is well on her way to becoming an olympic swimmer. she is already one of the fastest swimmers in california in her age group so...you do the math

I can't think of any 11 year olds, but Ed Moses won a gold medal in the 100 breaststroke and he was a golfer before swimming at age 15.

I know Nelson Diebel and have coached with him.  He won a medal in 1992 Barcelona for 100m breast, and a relay I know he was older when he started swimming

i don't know of any but i started at age nine and i am still swimming today, and i am pretty good.
