  1. www.k12.com and no lap tops just a k12 computer that is ok

  2. Virtual school programs provide desktops, but most, if not all, are not officially homeschool programs. The students are classified as public school students in most of them. The virtuals that use the K12, K to 8th grade are designed to have the mom as the teacher so on the daily, experiencial side of things it is not very different from traditional homeschooling.

Beyond the virtuals, you may find a private online school that does, but you will be paying a good bit for the curriculum and the school will likely have loaner risk-costs built in to the price of the courses. There is one private school program that enrolls students as homeschoolers and loans laptops, but I could not remember the name and a websearch wouldn't turn them up. I remember that they were a bit pricey though; you would do a s well buying your own laptop.

    Non-profits...

We have a national, non-profit online homeschool course co-op program up and running, but we are not at a stage yet where we can do hardware. Possibly, we will never go there. Getting nationally distributed loaner laptops back can be a real problem even with the advanced tracking tools that you can install in them. It can financially bring down a non-profit program that tries it. I know because I ran a national non-profit curriculum loaner program and we had a disturbingly high rate of material theft by homeschoolers that never returned the homeschool books. :( The program became crippled due to this problem.

I have toyed with the idea of local loaning of computers to needy families. With local homeschoolers the return rate will be better and tracking the loaners would be easier to follow up on if it were within driving distance. But for all the hassles of tracking loans, I think it would be worth just donating/gifting a computer when a truly needy family comes along.

  3. There are private on-line Academies who have these service; they can be a bit pricey though.

All other programs that I have ever researched that provide these; books, and computers; are programs put in place by the public school system to engage students in doing "school at home".

In case you decide to enroll in one of these type of programs you are a public school student who has to follow the schedule, and requirements of that public school/district.

    This is NOT home schooling.

  4. omg! im in one of those like right now! www.k12.com or www.agora.org are the places to go. they are available in some states, im in PA, but for the highschool its laptops and for the middle schools its desktops. ITS FREE! you have to pay for internet and thats all, and thats what... $10-$30 a month. you get all the books and everything shipped to you, you can meet with ur teachers in these rooms, online, and they can talk to you, and hear you talk.

    ♥Homeschooled♥

im in PA and my bro got a laptop for highschool idk about the other people here...

  5. pennfoster gives you books but not no laptop

  6. K12.com has an excellent program.  If they have a free virtual academy in your state, then you will get all of your books and a computer to use at no charge.  In my state (Ohio), they don't give out laptops because there are too many problems with them.
