"PEOPLE WORKING COOPERATIVELY" is a non profit organization who helps low income people in the Cincinnati OH area with much needed home repairs to make their home a safe, livable place. Their website is:

http://www.pwchomerepairs.org/

My mother would most certainly qualify and is indeed in need of some repairs before she can move back into the house that her parents built that both she and I grew up in. The only problem is that she is located in Kenova, WV which is only a few hours from Cincinnati OH but I fear its too far for them to help. I have emailed them and am awaiting a response, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone knew of such an organization near the Huntington WV area (or Charleston WV, the capitol, is only about 45 minutes or an hour from her house in Kenova).

Thanks for any responses, I am very eager to get some help for my mother. She is 61 and has had multiple heart attacks and open heart surgery lately, and her husband is 79 or older and has cancer. Tnx!

  1. Have you tried Habitat for Humanity? I know that a lot of Marshall Students are part of that and help build and repair homes in the Huntington area. I don't really know of anywhere else. Maybe you could try asking a local church? Someone like a preacher could know where to get help. That's a very good question and I hope everything works out for you and your mom.
