Bipolar - Manic Depression

O.C.D - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

I have previously lived in U.S and felt really great when I got professional help. Now I am back in India and I feel apprehensive about opening up to a therapist about my sexuality, what with it being illegal being g*y and also bad experiences when I sought professional help here.

I am well educated person and do not intend to be dependent on the state for my welfare.

  1. Your medical/psychiatric problems should keep you out of the US.  No one is going to help you come here.  There are psychiatrists and psychologists (many US-trained) in your own country and there is no need for you to seek medical care in the US.  In fact, medical care in the US has gotten so expensive that hundred of thousands of American citizens are going overseas for medical care -- especially to India!

There is no good reason for you to try to come to the US, but the US has plenty of reasons to keep you out.  Stay home.

  2. Direct ur "?" to Matt & Tin Man. They are the experts.

  3. No

  4. First you would need to apply for an immigrant visa. There is a chance that you would not receive an immigrant visa because of health related grounds. Section 212(a)(1)(A) says that aliens are inadmissible if they have:

a physical or mental disorder and behavior associated with the disorder that may pose, or has posed, a threat to the property, safety, or welfare of the alien or others, or

have had a physical or mental disorder and a history of behavior associated with the disorder, which behavior has posed a threat to the property, safety, or welfare of the alien or others and which behavior is likely to recur or to lead to other harmful behavior.

If the above grounds of inadmissibility do not apply to you, and someone petitioned for you, you could obtain an immigrant visa and come to the U.S. to live.
