  1. Your in the wrongplace, come to the Visayas.

  2. Apparently, yes - the Philippines has the third largest American population in the entire world - after the United States and Mexico.

Most Americans in the Philippines are based around Manila. Antipolo City has literally several communities populated entirely by Americans, and in the hills in nearby Taytay town also has lots of these Americans. All of them are White and most are missionaries or are descendants of missionaries who came to the country long ago.

In Manila proper, Makati City, Taguig City, and Muntinlupa City (Alabang) have large American expatriates who work for multinational companies and have little or no connection at all with the American missionaries. Again, most here are White.

In the rest of Luzon, most Americans are clumped in Olongapo City and Angeles City, almost all of them have fathered children. Most of them are previously connected with the US Army, who have closed their bases in the country on 1992. There are small American clusters in Batangas Province (Anilao), Laguna Province (San Pablo), and Legaspi City.

In the Visayas, Americans are clustered in Cebu City and Mactan Island, as well as in Boracay Island and Palawan Island, where they usually are either retirees or are young people teaching surfing or other water sports.

  6. Why just Americans?! You can discuss that with other foreigners and even Filipinos.

I use to be active with the Pinakbet Group - based in Ilocos. They are more into outdoor adventures but we do discuss how life is in the Philippines.

Here is the site for their forum. You can find more information that you need there if you are interested of joining.
