  1. Snow Leopards are not arctic/polar felines. They live in the mountains "of Central Asia from Afghanistan, Northern India (Himalayas), northern Pakistan, to Lake Baikal and eastern Tibet."

Just because it has the ability to live in the snow or cold doesn't mean it's an arctic animal. Arctic/polar has to do with where the animal lives, up north (arctic) or the north or south pole (polar).

I don't think there is a arctic/polar feline. The closest would be a lynx.

  2. Heather is correct. Arctic and polar describe regions - locations where the snow leopard is not found.  Other felines that are found in snowy regions include the Lynx and to some degree, the Siberian Tiger.  It is also clear that the remainder of the Tiger species were also, at one time, designed for life in a colder climate but have adapted to life in the tropics. Many other felines are found in areas where there is temperate forest lands (meaning they also spend time in the snow) including the mountain lion and bobcat.

  3. Siberian Tiger, Lynx range far north.
