Question:

Are there any other options rather than surgery for Tarsal Coalition?

I have Tarsal Coalition and have to go back to the specialist in February to discuss surgery. I want to have the surgery but my mum and grandmother wants me to explore different options.

Does anyone know of other things that could help reduce the pain in my ankle rather than having surgery?

I'm in a lot of pain - just from walking or standing for long periods of time.

  1. Funny story actually, i was diagnosed with a tarsal coalition and i got a cast put on and i just got it off today. So there are 2 options other than surgery. which is getting a cast for about 6 weeks, and a shot of cortisone. I think the cast is really going to help me but i must warn you, when you get your cast off, it will be very stiff. This is normal. I hope this helps and good luck!!
