Are there any peace corp or equivalent program that lasts 6 months or less?

I don't know about the Peace Corps.  But I do know that AmeriCorps has programs that last from 3 months (summer positions) to a year or two.  I'm starting an AmeriCorps position in August, and I'm very excited.  You can go to the website and search jobs without even creating an account.  If you find a job you like, then you can create an application and apply for it! There definitely are!  They might not be exactly the same in the sense that you might have to pay a little and some are for students/recent grad, but there are programs that allow you to do the same type of community-focused service.   Here are a few suggestions:

These are the major ones I know of but I'm sure that you could find more info for you do a search.  Try typing something like "international service trips"  or "community service abroad"  And in the links I'm submitting there are some extra sites to search.
