I would like to join a volunteer program abroad with my husband and children. Does any one know of anything like this...or have experienced this?

Thanks!

  1. the local food center. retirement center. VA Hospital... need more?

  2. are you out of your mind?!?!  you want to take your children out of the country to some 3rd world war zone. for what???  child services should take them away from you just for asking this question.  you want to feel better about yourself  why not take the family to texas and patrol the border to keep illegal's out. now that fun for the whole family.

  3. US Army will give you assignments in Germany, Korea, South America, etc. Many of these places allow for dependants to come with you.

I know you said "peace" But soldiers ARE the ULTIMATE PEACE KEEPERS.

"It is empirically incorrect to say that one cannot achieve peace through violence. Indeed, without violence, one could never subdue or eliminate those who use violence against the peaceful." - Brooks Mick

  4. Peace corps do not tolerate its members to bring their family because it will defeat their mission since their concentration will be divided.

  5. Depending on the length of time you are interested in, most of the overseas volunter programs willing to allow entire families to go along are more missionary oriented programs run by religious organizations.  Consider Habitat for Humanity - they have building projects in the US and around the world (website below).  Otherwise, unless you have a major skill required in a special area, you will have to be very creative to find a billet.

  6. Depends on your skill, yes if you are a RN or MD.If not, then you don't have to look further than your own back yard to be of volunteer service , to teach your children true charity, not look for anything in return and to serve WHERE THERE IS A NEED..
