I need to find out if there are any planes that have skipped my mind that use the fuselage as an extra way of generating lift. Any help would be great!

  1. There are some.

As mentioned above. NASA and other aerospace companies have made several X-planes with bodies that have positive lift.

    Such as:

    The X-23 PRIME

    The X-24

    The X-38

    M2-F3

  2. The more streamlined the fuselage is the more it helps with drag, speed....etc......... but i think its just the wings that generate lift. Nuthin else.

  3. dont know about any planes but my wife has!

  4. The F-15 and the F-14 both have fuselages the create lift in addition to the wings. In fact, I believe that I once heard that when the F-14 has its wings swept, 60% of the lift comes from the fuselage.

  5. well there is the plane called the b2 bomber where the fuselage is basecly the wing but yea

and there is an xplane frogot whats it caleld but it has no wings its whole body is fuselage

  6. NASA has a design for a reentry vehicle calle the flying body.http://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/news/...

  7. Yes....It's called a "Lifting Body"

There are several planes that have it...

    Steve Wittman's  "Tailwind"  ( W-8  & W-10 ) has it...

Fast little planes...Short Wings , needs the help of the
