Are there any plants you can get from your backyard to put in a betta tank?

my mom is cheap and she wont take me to buy a plant for my betta. are there any that you could get in a yard?

  2. i'm assuming that any plant you find in your backyard would not be an aquatic plant, so it probably would not live in the water in the fish tank. even if you did have an aquatic plant that you found outside i would not put in in the tank, it could possibly kill your fishie!

  4. You shouldn't put anything foreign with your betta. Stick to things that are made exspecially to put in a aquarium. You may never know what could be on it, pesticides chemicals. Now do you really wanna risk hurting your fish. Wal mart sells bulbs that are like 3 bucks and live plants at wal mart are no more than 5 bucks.

  5. No, the plants in your backyard are terrestrial, they need open air.  You can get a pack of like 12 bulbs at Petco for only 3$  Use a couple at a time and if you kill them off some how you can put in more.  They have a money back guarantee on growth but they grow pretty well.  (:
