Are there any players capable of dominating ladies tennis??

I dont think there is a tennis player in the ladies game who can dominate the game like federer and nadal dominate the mens....

I don't think anyone will be capable of dominating the whole season, but rather capable of dominating the different surfaces.

I see the Williams sisters as always being the ones who dominate on grass, with the occasional breakthrough of other good players like Sharapova.

Clay will most likely now be Ivanovic's surface. She's decent on clay but always falls short on the other surfaces.

Then hard courts will belong to Sharapova. Nobody's game compares to Sharapova's on hard courts when she's playing well; the start of the year should be proof enough that she will be in charge of the end of the season when everything is played on hard.

At the moment, I don't see any woman capable of Dominating the ladies field. The Williams sisters, although very good players, lack the dedication and work ethic to get their games to where it could have been. They can win but don't practice to improve their games enough, or either play enough. They are also very injury prone due to lack of conditioning. You can win occasionally but you can't dominate the game this way.

The Serbs are still young and can have mental lapses occasionally. They need to toughen up mentally and physically to start winning consistently.

Maria has a host of problems. Most of it between her ears. She has a great game but I think she needs to refocus her efforts with new coaching. There is a lot of pressure for her to win, most coming from her father and the press.

So there you have it. Nobody currently capable of dominating like Roger or Rafa on the men's side.

And even on the men's side, get past the top three and who do you have? Ferrer, Davydenko, Roddick? Incapable of domination.
