  1. Most of them, when the facts change. There's always new information coming to light, and we should change our opinion if the facts dictate it. The annoying part is when people make the changes in their opinion retro-active. 70% of Americans were for the war in Iraq when the war first started. Now 70% of Americans say they were never for the war. I'm no math major, but that just doesn't sound right.

  2. Nation-building. I think it is ACCEPTABLE in some cases. I didn't think that in 2000.

  3. Yes. Many. But for politicians is different. Take Romney on abortion. To swing back so hard on such a vexed issue is total madness from an ideological point of view...but from a political standpoint, it's just part and parcel of the game. Essentially, flip-flopping is the name we give, not to changing one's MIND, but changing one's position out of political expediency.

  4. Of course, but not because I wanted to curry favor among voters to win an election at all costs.

  5. Yeah I used to be for free trade now I hate every aspect of it....

  6. Loved McCain in 2000, not so much in 2008.

  7. I have changed my mind on  NAFTA  It was suppose to make Mexico  richer  and create jobs there and help solve the problem with illegal immigration, but it has not worked, we have lost jobs, but Mexico did not get any better off, and we have even more illegal immigrants.

    I opposed the constitutional amendment  to force a balanced budget in the early nineties because I thought we had learned our lesson and we would stop running huge deficits. I now wished it hat passed;

    I no longer worry that Roe vs Wade will be overturned because the abortion pill ru486 will make any laws banning abortion unenforceable and it is safe and cheap

  8. Of course there are. As you grow you see things in a different light.
