I really want to work in the hospital environment. I'm 20 years old and am about to go to college, and am thinking about going for something in the medical field. I've heard that working or volunteering is a great reference. I would volunteer if I could, but don't have the time and need the money. Are there any paying positions where they don't require a degree? I thought candy striping would be fun, but it's all volunteer based. Any thoughts?

  2. Yes...I just graduated high school last May and work in the hospital...You can get a job in admitting or down in the kitchen or maybe even house keeping..I know these are not fancy jobs but atleast you get your foot in the door and open oppertunities for advancements

  3. You can get a job in the gift shop or the cafteria. However, volunteering is doesn't have to be 6-8 hours long. You can simply volunteer for an hour or two per week. That way you can show your potential employers you do things for others w/o pay, just because you are helpful and caring person.
