  1. Frequent earthquake of lessor magnitude will avoid the occurrence of major one. Because the pressure developed at tectonic plate edges will be released then and there. The seismograph picture recorded during earthquakes help the scientist to know about earth interiors.

  2. Earthquakes relieve the tension building between tectonic plates. Thus, a bunch of small earthquakes lessen the chance that a large earthquake will occur along the same boundary.

Also, earthquakes (depending on the type) bring up old land to the surface for scientists to study.

  3. Population control

  4. Volcanoes and earthquakes are similar to   safety valve blowing off in a pressure cooker.Otherwise the cooker will explode. So,they prevent disasters of extereme intensity over the earth.

  5. Over time, they created mountains so that I can go skiing.

  6. Well, within 10,000 years or so, earthquakes caused by the colliding of the Indian and Asian plates will cause Mt. Everest to tower over 31,000 feet above sea level, (nearly 2,000 feet higher than its current value),
