Are there any "real" colleges in mexico?

My friend and her bf are moving to mexico, on the coast and probably in a Cancun area or near there, it sounds cool and all, she said it's not one of those ravaged areas where ppl are taking s***s on side of the road lol (that's what I heard) but I plan on going to college to become a psychiatrist, and I'd like to find a college there that has credit in america or something, because my dad hired a mexican man to sand his car and the guy believe it or not was a commercial architect and he made more money sanding a car in america than he did in his career, and oviously he's not doing his original job here in the US, and I'm sure if he could I would,or you could use your degree here if ur a citizen? because I don't plan on staying in mexico forever just a year or 2, I plan on traveling the world and definatly getting outa here (Louisiana) I plan on moving back home after that, but not forever and going back to college here too, would it work?

  1. You're going to love mexico. Good Luck

  2. Of course we do have "real" colleges. But I'm not sure if in Cancún you could find any. In the other hand; our educational system is quite different from yours; check our process from the kinder to postgrade:

-Preesolar (from 3 to 6 years old)

    -Primaria (six years total)

    -Secundaria (3 years)

    -Preparatoria (3 years)

-Profesional o Universidad (4 to 5 years) like your college, you get Licenciatura degree wich is more than your bachelor but less than Master or Doctor.

-Maestria or Master (2 years usually)

-Doctorado or phD (2 or 3 years usually).

Of course, there are other options, but this is the main system.

  3. I hope they do not steal everything you have amigo

  4. yea there is a very good college in mexico but its not in the cancun area. some of my friends are goin to it but i for got the name of it i think around veracruz  or somethin like that. but remember if you r a bad or annoying person who gets in trouble in school a lot theres no detention you get hit hard with things like a whip or ruler mostly on your but or hand and they dont use calculators in most places to. and some people who come to the us are behind a grade level because we are more advance than them. but i heard college there is more advance than here over there. just watch out for your luggages because at any chance you leave them a lone you will lose it for good. and dont drink the water and oh yeah my uncles house and most of the houses over there have no carpet in them its just dirt floor with weeds growing in side your house.
