Are there any "thrill" rides at Disney World?

I'll be going there this year....as I was looking at the website and the maps it didn't look that fun. So I wanted to know if there were any cool "Thrill" rides or something that would be fun for a 12 year old like myself. And what is there to do there?

Yes!

Space Mountain, the train one in the back across from the Haunted Mansion, the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean... there's lots.  It's not just for kiddies.

They have thrilling rides but not like 6 flags or Universal. Rockin ROllercoaster goes inverted and its in the dark and goes really fast. Tower of Terror is a very unique ride that drops you multiple stories repeatedly. Expedition Everest goes very high up, has an 80ft drop, mabye 100ft, goes backwards and has a great theme. Splash Mountain drops 5 stories and you get wet. Space Mountain is in the dark and jolts you around pretty good. Test Track at Epcot goes 65 mph and has banks at 65mph. Disney also has awesome 3D shows like Mickey's Philharmagic, Bug's Life, and Muppets 3D. They also have awesome themed restaurants and great food. GO to their waterparks too, they have 2 of them. Blizzard Beach has the tallest free fall waterslide in the world. Typhoon Lagoon has a huge wave pool and 3 watercoasters and you can snorkle there too.

Okay you asking the right person I have been to Disney World 4times!! I cant get enough! :) okay the major thrill rides are in MGM studios and in the Magic Kingdom. The two TOP thrills are Rock n'Roller Coster and Hollywood Tower of Terror. Also in the Magic Kingdom Stitch and Space Mountain. The Tower of Terror is my favorite, i am a youngin just like you and it is amazing!! Rock n' Roller coaster is like for ULTIMATE roller coaster riders. If you have a bad heart rate then i dont recommend it. It go 60mph in like 10seconds i have only gone on that twice. :D anyway if you want to look at the maps of the parkson online go to www.disneyworld.com and click MAPS and you'll know what to do from there!!! :) have funi n disney!

for thrill rides you have four coaster, one log flume ride and a drop ride. plus a couple of good simulator rides.  yes, there are some fun rides but its not all thrill rides. the coaster are fun but i would leave Rock and Roller Coaster and Expedition Everest for the end. they are the best and i always save the best for last.  oh, i forgot there was another water ride at animal kingdom. if you think you will be going from one coaster to another, then no, you will not have fun. but if you are looking for some cool rides with some decent coasters thrown into the mix then you will have a great time.

Serious answer:  Disneyworld has a lot of rides with varying degrees of wildness.  I'm not sure where your personal cutoff of "thrill" is, but the wildest rides are:

yes there is. Disney world is more of a famliy place and is very fun if your little, but theres lots of great rides.

1. The rockin roller coaster (the studios)

2. Tower of terror (the studios)

3. Mount Everest (Animal Kingdom)

4. Jurassic park ride (Animal Kingdom)

5. space mountain (Magic Kingdom)

6. wooden train ride (Magic Kingdom)

7. Splash Mountain (Magic Kingdom)

and much more. I think you'll like it there your 12 and theres a lot of things that you'll probably enjoy.

go to mgm park and go on the rockin rollar coaster... its super fun, i love thrill rides and this ones by far my favorite.  you go from 0-60 in 3 seconds and its so fun.  Disney world looks boring at first, but it is probably the funnest place ever, and you'll wish you could go back all the time!

Hello

There is plenty of things to do for a 12 year old and things that you will find exciting yourself. There are many thrill rides, but also some things that are still great that are not.

Here are the rides that I thin you will enjoy:

Magic Kingdom:

* Space Mountain - A fast rollercoaster in the dark and one of the 3 main mountains in Disney World!

* Big Thunder Mountain - A wooden rollercoatser through an abandoned mine town. Whizz through caves and tunnels on your mine train!

* Splash Mountain - A Log Flume that is based on the movie Song of the South. You plunge 52 feet into the briar patch.

* Pirates of the Caribbean - The ride that the movie was based on. Full of animatronic pirates and animals. Pirate ships, shooting canons, skeletons and a fire are just a few things that are in this ride.

* Haunted Mansion - A dark ride through a haunted mansion. 999 ghosts reside in this mansion and are not going to let you out so easily!

* Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - Shoot at Z targets to defeat the evil emperor Zurg.

EPCOT:

* World Showcase - The whole of world showcase is very interesting, especially for teens and adults. It shows you all about different cultures and food. There are also two rides. One in Mexico and one in Norway. They are both boat rides. The one in Mexico is a slow boat ride that has the disney characters the three caballeros in it. You ride around Mexico looking for Donald Duck. The one in Norway is called Maelstrom and sends you on a rough boat ride through Norway, where you will be faced with Polar Bears and evil trolls which curse you to go down backwards down a waterfall!

* Honey I shrunk the Audience - Everyone will love this attraction. You are the audience in a 3d show based on Honey I shrunk the Kids. You will be shrunk down to the size of an ant and get chased by a little child, a dog and surrounded by mice!

* Soarin': Soar over California in your parasail. Smell the pine trees and the oranges. Feel the wind through your hair and feel like you are really flying!

* Mission : Space - Arguably the most terryfing ride at Disney World. People come off feeling extremely dizzy and even be sick! You actually feel the gravity of flying on a rocket ship into the solar system!

* Spaceship Earth - Disney World's most popular ride ever! It takes you through the hostory of communication and has just been totally refurbished!

* Test Track - Be a test dummy as you drive in a test car over bumps in the road, go through extreme temperatures, and drive up t 65mph!

Animal Kingdom:

* Expedition Everest: A rollercaster inside a replica of Mount Everest. Be chased by a yeti as he rips up the track and you fall backwards down the mountain!

* Kilimanjaro Safaris - Go on a safari through the African pridelands and see tons of different animals.

* Kali River Rapids - Fast water rapids. Be prepared to get really wet!

* Dinosaur - In my case, the best ride at Animal Kingdom. Go on a fast paced ride into prehistoric times and be chased by many dinosaurs incuding the almighty Carnataurous! Be prepared to be scared!

* It's Tough to be a Bug - A show not to be missed. This is a 3d show that shows you the life of cartoon bugs! Flik from a bug's life is the host and will show you different bugs and their talents (including the smelly Stink Bug!) Many shocking things that will make you jump!

Hollywood Studios (MGM):

* Indiana Jones Stunt Show - See stunts from the movies LIVE!

* Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show - A live stunt show with cars and motorbikes!

* Muppet Vision 3D - Ok, so it sounds a bit childish. But this show is hilariously funy for anyone and just because its 3D it makes it so fun!

* Rock n Rollercaster - Starring Aerosmith, drive your limo to the VIP parking lot and go through loops in a dark ride whilst loud music is being played.

* Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - Drop 13 floors (199 feet) in an elevator! BRILLIANT!

* Star Tours - A very jolty simulator that will take you to space and beyond
