Are there any races that have become obsolete?

I'm just wondering if any races cease to exist anymore. I have no idea!

What an odd question.  On one hand unless you live in a cave you know that cultures have died:  Roman, Ancient Greek, and so on.  On the other, they don't completely die.  Even today, the Western justice system is based on the Roman.  No matter the professional field, you find people referring back the Greek philosophers for wisdom.  Cultures die out, their influence may or may not.

I'm thinking car and boat races have always been kinda selfish and self-serving, considering the cost of fuel. Maybe even moreso now.

I think the marathon is obsolete.

We have radios and phones now.

One assumes you mean 'extinct'.

Some of the folk who I don't think are around anymore:

Hittites, Romans, Phoenicians, Mayans, Olmecs, Toltecs, Aztecs, Trojans, Etruscans, Spartans, Easter Islanders, most native american tribes, etc etc.
