Does anyone know of any big meets or events for train spotters or railway enthusiasts in the UK?

Not as I know of  big casual meets when some interesting power is making a rare appearance  most towns have a group somewhat attached to model rail clubs

YES THEY ARE! on sat 21st and sun 22nd june there is a big event on at merehead quarry about 10 000 spotters are expected to be there also between 28th june and 5th july the east lancs railway are holding a 9 day diesel gala as part of there 20th celebration of diesel galas on the line. so youre question should be answered go to these events and you should see every trainspotter in the country

Wherever i go to take a few pix,just get talking to anyone on the platform,doing same as me,and always get pleasant conversation
