Besides her being a woman? Wasn't that the point of putting a woman on the ballot?

  1. well,

Obama is getting 95% of the Black vote.

  2. Other than gender there are no real similarities between Clinton and Palin.

  3. Yes, theyv'e both been dis-respected by Obama supporters!!

  4. Gender is basically the only similarity.

  5. No. They are comoplete opposites they just happen to be women. Thats all they have in common, and dotn bring the fight against sexism thing up, Palin said Hillary should shut up and get on with it and stop whining about sexism!

  6. Hillary voters should be insulted.  There is nothing in common. Watch the video posted below.

    By the way....

In my home state, there are only 30 days left to register to vote.  The clock is ticking.

  7. They have common woman issues regarding child care, respect and sexism, and a woman's perspective on family. Its not all about abortion.

  8. They're both white women, American, and mothers.  That's all I can come up with.

  9. They both have female bodies.

  10. the only thing similar is their crotch

    they both have one

  11. Gender.

The video by dpsimswm is dead on.

  12. 1 - Not really

2 - Clinton voters don't like Obama - enemy of my enemy is my friend...

3 - She's conservative, McCain is really moderate - they hope to capture the conservative vote.

  13. No, there aren't. I think the reasons behind putting Palin on the ticket were somewhat differing and contradictory. The most important was to solidify the G.O.P. base (i.e.- the religious right and other hardcore conservatives, as well as a few more libertarian ones). Secondly, and here is the contradictory part, they wanted to pull in disaffected moderates and democratic women. Last, they wanted to grab hold of the theme of youth, change and hope.

As you point out, there are almost no similarities between Clinton and Palin; political success is the only other one I can think of. Which is primarily why the attempted appeal to potential Clinton Supporters simply won't work. Palin's policy ideas are roughly in line with Rush Limbaugh's, and no moderate, true independent or true democrat will go for that.

Where Palin's nomination has worked is in energizing the Republicans. It was clear at the convention, and is clear from the various posts on YA, that Repubs love Palin far more than McCain. Every criticism of her has only made them more certain that she is their person.

Where it is a mixed bag comes in the form of the "change" question. Certainly Repubs believe that the McCain/Palin ticket means real change, but does anyone else? That remains to be seen, and I am betting on a no at this point.

  14. Energy crisis, it's Palin's strong point. She has worked on both sides and brings a wealth of knowledge never before accessed. She is key to our economic future and very shortly we are all going to figure that out.

  15. Even though I am pro-choice, I will not let that issue control my vote anymore.  I voted for Hillary, and I will vote for McCain. They are both moderates. Even though I am pro-choice, I think it should only be legal in the first 3 m. and the born alive bill that Obama voted against shows how abhorrible he really is.  We put dogs down and don't let them suffer, but we will let a baby lay there and suffer untill they die? that's crazy!!!!!!

  16. Why would a largely Democratic voter base jump over and vote for a Republican?

And by the way I love how you chose an atheist's answer for your question aimed at Christians. Very clever.

"Do most Christians agree that the war in Iraq is doing God's work, and how is that supported in scripture?"

I guess you can't tell the difference between Christians and Atheists OR Democrats and Republicans? I am surprised you can tell the difference between Males and Females.

  17. what are the similarities between hillary and obama. he is ultra left and he himself said hill and him are different shes the old and hes the new. and hillary wanted to change the status quo of men only all the time in washington. having palin there is a step in the right direction..... and please don't go on abt roe vs wade the decision doesn't rest with palin so I couldn't care less what she believes abt that also all women don't agree with each other 100% of the time all the time so why do hillary and palin have to be clones they each their own person who has overcome sexism, raised families and worked hard to achieve success in the political arena
